HYGIENE AND SANITIZATION MEASURES AT THE RAMEE GROUP OF HOTELS

We are enforcing precautionary measures for guests and issuing hygiene and sanitisation measures to welcome our guests back at our hotels. "We Love to Care'' for our guests and associates, which is why some extra measures have been implemented at our hotels to ensure the health and safety of all individuals. We are setting up a Safety Team with a Leader in each hotel, who will be responsible to ensure that all measures are being implemented and recorded.

GUEST TRANSPORT

 
  • Drivers will be wearing protective gear such as a mask, gloves, etc.
  • Cars will be disinfected with every arrival. The driver and passenger sections will be segregated, with drivers instructed to limit conversations to the bare minimum required.
  • Guest instructions will be placed on the back seat; with the information booklet covering all the steps being taken by the hotel for safety and sanitization along with the operational norms for restaurants, room service, housekeeping & laundry procedures.

ENTRANCE

 
  • Temperature checks at entrance will be made mandatory.
  • Guests running a temperature of more than 98.6° C will be politely asked to return or directed to the closest hospital/medical facility.
  • Luggage will be cleaned and disinfected with the permission of guests.
  • If required, masks will be provided to guests.

GUEST ROOMS

 
  • Due to Social Distancing norms, alternate rooms will be allotted, or two rooms will be left vacant in between, based on occupancy levels.
  • Guests instructions will be given at the reception, including instructions on how the rooms are sanitized at regular intervals.
  • Housekeeping Associates on the floor will be wearing safety gear.
  • Sanitizers will be refilled at regular intervals on the floor.
  • Newspapers will not be delivered due to safety reasons, but e-papers will be made available through WhatsApp etc.
  • Laundry, room service instructions will be available in the room.

POOL, GYM, & SPA

 
  • These areas will be closed till advised to open, as per government norms.
  • We will suggest alternate options / drop to open parks or walks which may be safer.
  • Yoga sessions or health channels in the morning may be included for guests to follow.
  • All equipment will be sanitized after every use.

RECEPTION

 
  • If the guest is arriving from restricted countries or regions, detailed information will be taken from the guest upon arrival or at the time of making the reservation.
  • For all pre-booked guests, the check-in formalities will be completed online to reduce contact and time at the front desk
  • Safety, hygiene and other instructions will be given to the guests as per the new SOPs.
  • Markings will be made on the floor at the reception to maintain social distancing.
  • Associates will be wearing masks & gloves.
  • Sanitizers will be available for guests to use.
  • Papers, envelopes and all other equipment will be sanitized.
  • Swabs, alongside sanitizers, will be made available for guests to clean their phone or credit cards.

ELEVATORS

 
  • Safety instructions, including the number of guests allowed at one time, will be placed inside the elevator. 
  • Elevator floors will have markings with directions, so that guests do not face each other and maintain the appropriate social distance.
  • Elevator floor buttons will be regularly sanitized by the Housekeeping Associates, with the floor & other areas of the elevators that can be touched, regularly sanitized.
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available in the elevators.

RESTAURANTS

 
  • The number of tables will be reduced to maintain social distancing norms.
  • Seating for the tables will be reduced to half of the normal capacity.
  • Arrival instructions will be explained to guests - they should come down to the restaurants only when a table is available to avoid crowding. Guests will also be advised to avoid buffets initially and choose either the TDH or ‘a la carte’ mode of dining.
  • Staff will be trained for minimal contact/communication during service. Associates will be wearing masks & gloves. Disposable napkins which are pre-packed or individually packed serviettes will be used.
  • Sanitizers will be available for guests to use.
  • Swabs, alongside sanitizers, will be made available for guests to clean their phone or credit cards.

BUSINESS CENTRES

 
  • Work desks will be spaced out to ensure appropriate social distancing.
  • The number of guests in the area will be limited based on the capacity.
  • Each desk, equipment and work area will be disinfected after the guest has moved out.

CHECK-OUT

 
  • A separate check-out area will be created in case there is over-crowding, and e-check out will be used wherever possible, by emailing the bill & accepting online payment.
  • Guests will be advised to inform us about their check-out plans in advance so that bills can be kept ready.
  • Floor markers will be put as in the case of check-in.
  • Sanitizers and other swabs will be provided in case the guest requires it.

OTHER GUIDELINES

 
  • All indoor areas such as entrance lobbies, corridors and staircases, escalators, elevators, security guard booths, office rooms, meeting rooms, cafeteria will be mopped with a disinfectant with 1% sodium hypochlorite or phenolic disinfectants.
  • For metallic surfaces like door handles, security locks, keys etc. a liquid with 70% alcohol will be used to wipe down surfaces where the use of bleach is not suitable.
  • WHO guidelines or the local state & central government health authorities will be referred to for additional information on appropriate disinfectants.
  • Based on the projected occupancy levels, the operational timings of each of the areas will be decided, and guests will be advised accordingly.

EMPLOYEE TRANSPORT

 
  • There will be a temperature and sanitization check point for associates before boarding the bus, where transport is provided for hotel employees. It will be ensured that transport is organised for associates in case public transport is not operating in certain cities or is deemed to be not safe.

CLOCK-IN

 
  • All associates will be made to stay at home in case they have any symptoms of flu or are not feeling well.
  • Alternate methods will be devised for Associates to clock-in and clock-out at the hotel.
  • Temperature checks will be conducted for all employees on clocking into the premises of the hotel.
  • Staff running temperature more than 98.6° C will be asked to return home.

  • Uniform exchange daily will be the norm. Uniforms will need to be sanitized properly.
  • Associates will be given masks and gloves as part of the uniform across all departments.

  • The shifts will be staggered in various 15 minutes slot to ensure there is no overcrowding in the lockers and the number of employees are regulated with proper social distancing norms being followed.
  • Extensive hand wash and sanitizing arrangements will be made with signages explaining the need.
  • Regular monitoring will be done ensure there is no crowding on arrival or at the locker room.

  • Proper tools and gears for associates will be made available which would include masks, gloves and also tools in various departments which shall minimize human touch.
  • Associates will be instructed to wear disinfected & clean gloves.
  • Associates will be instructed to isolate themselves in case they have any symptoms of cold or flu.

EMPLOYEE DINING
 

  • Shifts will be staggered to avoid cafeteria crowding.
  • Cafeteria hours will be extended to allow smaller groups over a longer period of time - the usage will be restricted to 33% of its capacity at any given time.

KITCHEN

 
  • Operational kitchens will be sanitized at regular intervals.
  • The number of staff will be limited to the minimum required; staff can be organized into teams to reduce interactions between teams.
  • All staff will be instructed to wear disposable masks, gloves, hair nets and all other safety gear.
  • Workstations will be placed in such a way that the staff do not facing each other and can maintain the appropriate social distance.
  • Limited menus will be made available initially and ramped-up in a phased manner.
  • Menus will be tweaked to include more options of cooked food rather than raw food.
  • Proper cleaning will be done, of vegetables, meats and all other materials that are required in the kitchens; with approved sanitizing agents used to disinfect.
  • All tools will be sanitized after each use.

RECEIVING TOOLS

 
  • Proper cleaning procedures will be undertaken for items being received.
  • Receivable goods will be quarantined & date tagged before being taken inside for storage.
  • All supplies will be fully sanitized before entering our storage and refrigerators. WHO and Health Department approved sanitizing agents will be used for the same.
  • Storage areas will be sanitized at regular intervals.
  • Vendors will be advised on how to deliver goods and how their staff should arrive with necessary protective gear.

SERVICE ELEVATORS

 
  • Safety instructions, including the number of employees allowed at one time, will be placed inside the elevator.
  • Elevator floor buttons will be regularly sanitized.
  • Floor & other areas of the elevators that can touched will be sanitized.
  • Elevator floors will have markings with directions, so that employees do not face each other and maintain social distancing.
  • One elevator will be kept dedicated for people in need of quarantine and also to evacuate any possible suspected cases for both guests and associates.
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available in the elevators.

EMPLOYEE CLINIC

 
  • Regular health check-ups for employees will be conducted; A well-equipped clinic, operational within the hotel premises with a health partner will be available.
  • Proper PPE equipment for the Safety Team, in case of any requirements, will be made available. The Safety Team will be trained to handle and wear disposable PPE equipment in case they have to evacuate a potential suspected case.
  • The temperature of all employees will be checked twice a day.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING

 
  • L&D will conduct sensitisation classes for Associates on upgraded hygiene standards; they will also have visiting faculty to update Associates on the standards that employees must be well-informed about - regarding all the COVID related operating SOPs.

SALES ASSOCIATES

 
  • Sales & Marketing Associates who visit various offices will be asked to go home post appointments and submit reports from home.
  • If they are visiting clients, it will be ensured that they are aware of the necessary safety precautions they should be taking during their meeting.
  • All teams will be regularly updated with the latest guidelines by WHO and the guidelines of the local & central government authorities.
